At Ash­tanga Yoga Vienna Shala we are ded­i­cated to pass­ing on Ash­tanga Yoga in the authen­tic way called Mysore Style (inde­pen­dent Yoga prac­tice). The aim is to encour­age each indi­vid­ual to explore the beauty of this prac­tice for them­selves.

The sup­port of indi­vid­ual prac­tice (Ash­tanga Mysore Style) is essen­tial for stu­dents in order to start with yoga. First stu­dents have to under­stand and expe­ri­ence exer­cises in the indi­vid­ual tempo of prac­tice (Mysore Style Class, Begin­ner Class, Pranyama and Chant­ing Class). After estab­lish­ing of “proper” breath­ing (Ujjayi breath­ing) in the asana order (Vinyasa Method) they can start to focus on breath con­trol (Led Class).

Pranayama and Chant­ing classes are open for all lev­els and focus­ing on indi­vid­ual breath­ing exer­cises and “voice”.

Ash­tanga Yoga Vienna reg­u­lar classes are open to any­one inter­sted in Yoga.

Ash­tanga Yoga Vienna School was founded by autho­rised senior Ash­tanga Yoga teacher Natasa Cvetkovic with the great sup­port of Manju Patthabi Jois. With the aim is to etabilsh in Vienna reg­u­lar Yoga Classes, Work­shops and Teacher Train­ings in tra­di­tion of Ash­tanga Yoga tra­di­o­tion of Sri K. Patthbhi and Manju P. Jois. In 2016 after 18 years teach­ing, Natasa Cvetkovic opened Ash­tanga Yoga Vienna Shala, a space ded­i­cated to Ash­tanga prac­tice and research.

We approach together the aspects of own prac­tice, which are a great way to con­nect within:

• Cre­at­ing a sta­ble foun­da­tion to explore deeper essence of your prac­tice.
• Devel­op­ing inter­nal flow of individual’s energy potent.

Ensure that sta­mina, strength and flex­i­bil­ity are well bal­anced and effec­tive. Tristhana (Breathe con­trol, pos­ture and look­ing place) is the key to med­i­ta­tion. Fol­low­ing the well guided path on explor­ing the wis­dom and intel­li­gence of this Ancient Tra­di­tion we delve into the depths of per­sonal trans­for­ma­tion.

This work­shop is an intro­duc­tion to the Sec­ond Series ( ‘Nadi Shodana’) of Ash­tanga Vinyasa. The par­tic­i­pa­tion pre­req­ui­sites are the basic knowl­edge of the Ash­tanga Method and Pri­mary Series of Ash­tanga Yoga. Par­tic­i­pants gain a deeper under­stand­ing into the inter­nal method­ol­ogy and inter­play of both Pri­mary and Sec­ond Series, Please reg­is­ter per mail and inform about your yoga expe­ri­ence (Con­tact Natasa: jogasana@gmail.com)

The dynamic mix of back­bends, twists and inver­sions make the Sec­ond Series the per­fect ‘counter-sequence’ to the Pri­mary Series. Tra­di­tion­ally the Sec­ond Series was taught to all stu­dents at the same time as Pri­mary Series dur­ing morn­ing Mysore Classes in India.

We will explore the grace and beauty of this dynamic asana sequence in depth and pose-by-pose. Mul­ti­ple options, approaches and mod­i­fi­ca­tions (vari­a­tions) for each pos­ture will be taught in order to accom­mo­date all lev­els of stu­dents.
