DROP IN TO SECOND SERIES OF YOGA – All Levels
with Natasa Cvetkovic
This workshop is an introduction to the Second Series ( ‘Nadi Shodana’) of Ashtanga Vinyasa. The participation prerequisites are the basic knowledge of the Ashtanga Method and Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. Participants gain a deeper understanding into the internal methodology and interplay of both Primary and Second Series, Please register per mail and inform about your yoga experience (Contact Natasa: firstname.lastname@example.org)
The dynamic mix of backbends, twists and inversions make the Second Series the perfect ‘counter-sequence’ to the Primary Series. Traditionally the Second Series was taught to all students at the same time as Primary Series during morning Mysore Classes in India.
We will explore the grace and beauty of this dynamic asana sequence in depth and pose-by-pose. Multiple options, approaches and modifications (variations) for each posture will be taught in order to accommodate all levels of students.
Welcome and do not forget to register in time – Natasa.

ASHTANGA YOGA RETREAT 15.-23.8.15
THE WAY OF THE HEART
VACATION AND RETREAT IN TRIOPETRA, CRETE, GREECE: 7-DAYS WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS AND ADVANCED PRACTITIONERS
We are pleased to announce this year again an exceptional Workshop/Retreat on the sunny island of Crete, one of the most impressive Greek islands. The practice is important part of the philosophy and tradition of Ashtanga Yoga. Here beginners and advanced students will have the ability to both start and develop their own practices.
The Yoga room and terrace have direct views out onto the white beaches of the Bay of Triopetra. Triopetra (“triple rock”) is located off the beaten path in the south of the island of Crete.
This location is considered to have the best insider’s tip because in the 1960’s “flower children” from around the world chose Crete for their place of meeting. The untouched nature invites you to explore or simply to admire the beauty. To further promote a peaceful environment there are no bars or loud nightlife in the immediate vicinity. Here we have found the perfect location for learning and deepening our practices of Ashtanga Yoga..

Since 2008, Natasa is hosting Manju P. Jois Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Workshops. The next is Oktober 17. – 21. 2015.
In September 2015 starts the first Ashtanga Yoga Vienna one year modularized Yoga Teacher Training. Lecturers: Manju P. Jois, Natasa Cvetkovic and lecturers of Medical University of Vienna – focus is on medical and therapeutically aspects of traditional Ashtanga Yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga Vienna (AYV) teaching is in the traditional Yoga linage of T.Krishnamacharya, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Manju Patthabi Jois .
The AYV Yoga School was founded by authorised senior Ashtanga Yoga teacher Natasa Cvetkovic (ashtangaworls.net) with the great support of Manju Patthabi Jois (manjujois.com). Ashtanga Yoga Vienna Yoga School is open to anyone intersted in Yoga.
In Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga System you hold (stay in) every asana= posture until you finished 5 consecutive breaths (or more), the various body postures are connected by the harmonization of movement, breathing and focus. One moves through a sequence of postures and support the movement with the breath (one to the other asana – picture) while staying focused (=drishti “line of vision” or “focusing”) – it takes long practice to establish the specific breathing techniques ujjay pranayam at the same time. The pictures of yoga poses should be understood as providing guidance not as a depiction of your own asana (yoga posture). Ashtanga Yoga should be learned in years of practice with guidence of the teacher.
Yoga in the tradition of Sri K.Pattabhi Jois
Mysore Yoga teaching Method and developing of the own yoga practice
Practice is performed autonomously- i.e. the postures, the rythm of breath the beginning and duration are all determined by the practioner. The teacher supports the practioner by providing corrections adjustments and practical hints. Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore Style (idependent practice) is the focus of our offering.
In traditional Ashtanga Yoga led classes the teacher is explicitly determining the postures and the rythm of breath to excercise controlling one’s breath and endurance – the count and the posture names are in sanskrit.. Asthange Yoga Beginner Courses are guided classes with more space for the repetition of the basics. Beginners and practioners who want to refresh their skills are recommended to start with attending the beginner guided classes or book privarte lessons.
Yoga Beginners can get their yoga practice started right away in yoga lessons taught in one of these styles. The Yoga Beginner classes and courses focus on the anatomically correct performance of the asanas (=postures) , later the harmonious connection of deep and constant breathing and movement while staying focused is emphasized and practiced.
At the beginning one should be focused on practice since the texts originate in those very practices which should generally be performed with utmost attentiveness.
It is recommended to attend workshops private lessons and intensive training weeks at the very beginning.
